Coalesce/BenefitElect Data Breach Lawsuit Investigation

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Coalesce, LLC d/b/a BenefitElect, which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals.

Coalesce, LLC d/b/a BenefitElectreported that the data breach may have impacted 147 residents of Massachusetts. Residents of other states may have also been impacted.

For each of these individuals, the information involved may have included their name, address, date of birth, Social Security number, and/or financial account information.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
